I have a certain fascination in getting into abandoned buildings can take gorgeous photos but at the same time I get a melancholy feeling of knowing that something so beautiful is deteriorating.

What an interesting place! You took great photos of it. It seems to be in relatively good condition. Most of the windows around the door are still intact.
Yes, it was founded in 1934 as a sanatorium worked fine there till 1974. From them the number of patients were reducing. In 1990 they converted in to a psychiatric hospital and closed in 2002. In the time I visit still had some objects and patitents files dated from the begining in there.
